Central PA: Looking to start a SLED Hockey Team for Physically
Disabled
Want a new and fun way to get your disabled child, family member, friend, or
even yourself quality Physical Therapy (PT) out of a medical setting? Sled hockey may be the right sport for you!
I am looking to start a Central Pennsylvania sled hockey team based in the
Harrisburg/Hershey area for individuals ages 6+ years who have a physical disability limiting their capability to ice skate
in a standing position. Interested players should be able to sit fairly upright in the sled’s bucket seat with the attached
seat belts.
Sled hockey is unique and exciting! It is great exercise, a team effort, and offers players and families
an opportunity to network within their community and surrounding cities.
I am currently working to get the equipment, such as sleds and hockey sticks donated. You will need to have
your own hockey gear.
For the time being, I’m merely gathering information to see if there is enough interest to form a team.
